About Expert Hearing & Audiology

Expert Hearing is a local family-owned hearing instrument clinic, with offices in Eden Prairie and Mendota Heights, Minnesota. We are a discerning wife and husband team with a combined hearing industry experience of over 50 years. Giselle Matsui received her Master's degree in Audiology from Northern Illinois University, and began her career in audiology in 1985 in private practice in Chicago, IL. Her desire to impact the design and functionality of hearing instruments led her to work for GN ReSound, the second-largest hearing instrument manufacturer in the world. As their Product Director, she helped design and bring to market state-of-the-art hearing instruments that have helped improve the lifestyle of millions of hearing impaired patients world-wide. Dr. Pamela Roth graduated from Ball State University in Indiana with a Doctorate of Audiology, and has worked for a leading Ear, Nose & Throat physician here in the Twin Cities. Her experience includes nursing home and assisted living hearing care, health fair screenings, Special Olympics, and an extensive background in digital hearing aids, ABR (Auditory Brainstem Response), OAE (Oto Acoustic Emissions), ENG/VNG, Cochlear Implants and BAHA devices. Dr. Roth specializes in hearing aid fittings and technologies, and is an extremely capable and proficient audiologist. Dr. Michael Block received his Ph.D. in Audiology from Northwestern University, his M.S. in 

Audiology and B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Florida. Prior to joining our 

practice, Dr. Block spent 15 years with Eden Prairie-based Starkey Laborabories, a major

hearing instrument manufacturer. He was responsible for professional and technical training,

clinical research, product technology and development, and was their senior resource for

hearing instrument fitting issues and solutions. Dr. Block has developed technical education

programs and presentations for national conventions and professional organizations with a

focus on hearing instrument fitting protocols and solutions, and has published several articles

on hearing instrument fittings and related topics. Dr. Block brings a wealth of knowledge,

experience and capability, and is a definite expert at understanding people's needs and

recommending an appropriate, practical and cost-effective solution in order to reach the best

Joe Togstad is the office manager at our Eden Prairie location. Joe brings over 20 years of hearing industry experience to our business.
